I have bought a racing paddle board and you know about that from my last post here. By the way, it has been a while. I was supposed to write about it but ended up getting busy with work, life and other projects. Yes, I […]
I haven’t told you about my recent upgrade from inflatable paddleboards to a proper racing sup board. Yes, that finally happened. I bought a second hand JP Australia board from a paddler in Fort Lauderdale. He is about to upgrade to a new board and […]
So here it comes; a perfect wave! All of us are going to ride this wave! Then, just as the wave crests I see this asshole standing on some shit and he’s right in front. So dolphin one leaps out, lowers his snout, and takes a paddleboarder OUT! Every surfer has a crazy story about dolphins popping out of waves and people would think it was a shark in the middle of the wave but honestly a flying dolphins is a nice alternative.
From Orange County to San Diego, where the water is warmer, a lot of people had a couple dolphin encounters. People forget that they are smart social creatures. You would be surfing and they would try to show off for you. Or splash you. Or pop up next to your head when you’re laying on your board seemingly trying to scare the shit out of you. Anyone who surfs in CA or Brazil or anywhere with warmer waters frequently has met a couple curious dolphins.
The latest encounter went viral when a paddle boarder in Gracetown, Western Australia, was filmed in a unique encounter with some of the ocean’s friendliest creatures. Andrew Hill was waiting to film surfers when Lucas noticed a pod of dolphins that appeared to be chasing fish, when the pod of about 20 dolphins then turned to catch a wave, one dolphin jumped out of the water and knocked the Stand Up Paddle Boarder off his board.
This stand-up paddle boarder got quite the surprise when a dolphin leaped out of the water and body checked him back into the surf. Below is the dolphin knocks off paddleboarder video in gif format.
On an overcast saturday morning in Fort Lauderdale, I met with two ladies that are making things happen on the water. And what started as a rainy day turned out to become a sunny and beautiful February day in South Florida perfect for paddle board […]
The word “Slick” according to Google Translate is the definition of an impressive and efficient action or thing. That might also just be the definition of the new Flying Fish boards 3D custom board builder. The thing is impressive and can cause you to spend hours in […]

Fjords are those deep valleys, usually narrow and steepsided that extend below sea level and are naturally filled with seawater. I had been looking for a while now for an affordable racing paddleboard as I’ve been wanting to join my fellow folks at 954 Race league in Fort Lauderdale. I was still not ready financially, that is, to purchase a full fledged carbon race board. I am still not there financially. Nevertheless I kept looking around for a racing board and talking to different suppliers and manufacturers. And there just isn’t a good rigid racingboard below 1000 U$D, I imagine because the material to build a carbon board is expensive and the time invested in manufacturing one is also a good factor in this price. Keep on reading for a review on the Bluefin SUPs.
So I kept an eye on Amazon and found a few interesting options. And keeping the original spirit of this website, I focused on researching inflatable paddleboards. What were my options for inflatable racing boards? There weren’t many but the ones available were quite interesting. The Bluefin #sprint is the cheapest racing stand up paddleboard I have found!

I was divided between the Aqua Marina Competitive Inflatable, as they are also a great brand, but ended up opting for the price and function of the Bluefin SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board | 14′ Sprint Model. By looking at the pictures, you can already have an idea of the board. It’s a 14′ board with a SLEEK TOURING RACE DESIGN. It’s a pretty board, functional, projected to be fast and at an affordable inexpensive price of 499 U$D in the US. It looked and felt like a great option for faster paddleboarding experience.
The SUP is a great race StandUp Paddle Board package available on the market and these Bluefin iSUP kits come with everything needed for beginner and experienced paddle boarders. I have been paddling for a while but I’m not that active and was recently out for a few months due to a hernia surgery. Now with this board, I plan to be back for good paddling every chance I get.

UPDATE AND REVIEW ON THE SUP SPRINT 14″ after receiving it on the mail.
As you can see from the video on the rivers of Fort Lauderdale, the Bluefin is a stable inflatable sup. I took it up and down the river, going with and against the tide and even against it, it felt great. It glides over the water when inflated completely and feels like a regular racing board. I dare to say that the only difference between this and a hard racer board is the flotation during the fast strokes of a sprint. The weight of the paddler during the sprint is what makes this board wobble compared to a rigid board side by side. For paddlers that are getting ready to race and join faster paddlers or want to have an easier time when hitting the open water or choppy oceans, the Blue Fin Sprint 14″is a great addition to your stand up paddleboarding quiver.
